Bronx Science Bus Service Salutes Former Rider
According to the Defense Department, Lance Cpl. Jeffrey Lam, 22, of Oakland Gardens, died Monday in a "non-hostile vehicle incident" in Al Anbar Province. He was assigned to the Marine Corps Reserve's 6th Communications Battalion, 4th Force Service Support Group in Brooklyn. Jeffrey was a former Gagnon rider, and we applaud his efforts and sacrifice for our country. See the entire story HERE.
Parents Association Phone-A-Thon
Tuesday November 9, 2004 And Wednesday November 10, 2004 is the annual parents association phone-a-thon fundraiser. The Bronx Science Bus Service will be providing free transportation for parents attending this event. The pickup locations and schedule is below. Return service will be provided at the conclusion of the event and will run the route in reverse order, expect the trip home to be shorter due to lighter traffic conditions. Service Bulletin
On Friday 29 October 2004 there is a half-day for parent teacher conferences, as a result there will be no early or late bus service. All Bronx Science return service buses depart the school at 11:25 AM running normal afternoon routes & stops. American Studies return service will be one bus which departs the school at 12:10 PM and will run using the normal 2:45 route & stops. Please note that special service buses will be running on thursday and friday for the parent-teacher conferences, please consult the schedule below.
Parent - Teacher Conference Service Schedule
The Bronx Science Bus Service is at it again. This time were providing transportation for the parent-teacher conferences. Easing traffic, saving the environment, helping reduce stress so you can focus on what's important, your child's education. This service is provided free of charge to the Bronx Science community as part our continuing commitment to the success and advancement of our school. Another Year Gone By
As the academic year draws to a close, with finals, proms, summer vacations and for some college drawing near; we would like to congratulate the graduating class of 2004 for their achievement, and to the rest of the students for their continuing efforts to reach their goals & dreams. We would also like to congratulate all the incoming freshman on their acceptance to the Bronx High School of Science, and eagerly anticipate their arrival in September.

New
ID Cards
As
you have undoubtedly noticed, we have begun distribution of new ID cards
to all Bronx Science Bus Service riders. The cards are based on RFID technology,
similar to E-Z Pass®. This system is designed to ensure the safety
of all paying riders in these new times of heightened security. Our new
system is being rolled out at the end of this school year to test and
work out any difficulties. The complete system will be fully operational
by the start of the 2004 -2005 school year. In September no rider will
be permitted to board the bus without a valid ID, this policy will apply
to morning, and all afternoon runs.

On Tuesday, March 2, 2004 Bronx Science will be hosting a prospective
parents & students evening. We are pleased to offer round trip bus
service to the school and home on that evening. Since many of you will
be coming directly from your employment we will be serving a light dinner,
